Digital India Campaign started with an aim to push technology to all citizens and empower them by providing technology to Health, Education, Labor, Employment and Commerce Industries alike.
The main objective of starting the Digital India Campaign has been to develop a participative, transparent and responsive government, for which Prime Minister along with Mukesh Ambani, Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, Cyrus Mistry, Chairman of Tata Group and Azim Premji, Chairman of Wipro joined hands in helping Government empower citizens with Internet and lead India to Digital Pinnacle.
The vision behind starting the Digital India Campaign has been:
a.   Digital Infrastructure to all citizens
b.  Digital Empowerment of all citizens
c.   Governance and Services on demand

Under Digital India Initiative, Government of India launched projects like Digital Locker System, Mygov.in, Swachh Bharat Mission, Design Framework, The online Registration System, National Scholarships portal, Bharath Net and many more under belt.

The number of Internet Users is increasing:
Average amount of Internet users in India was 389.61 and 475.32 Million in years 2016 & 2017. The projections show an increase of 575.14 Million Users in 2018. The number of Internet users are growing and surpassing all other traditional mediums of advertising.
These numbers will up-roar after the Digital India Campaign, as the number of users is ever-increasing and with the Digital divide among the urban and rural vanishing through Common Service (CSC), Digital Marketers could reach too much more crowd.

The Digital Ad- world is ever increasing:
The KPMG Report states Digital Advertising to see a growth of 28% in 2016 compared to 2015. Projections show a growth by 30.8% in 2018 as an Industry and in terms of Revenue. The growth in the Digital Marketing as an Industry projections and year after could be speculated due to Digital India Initiative or due to the internal industry growth.

When Internet is omnipresent:
Bharat Net (A Project under Digital India Campaign) has 1,12,871 optical fiber cable laid, with this Mumbai will have 1200 Wi-Fi hotspots for free usage. Google is working with Railtel to provide free Wi-Fi to around 150 stations in Mumbai in coming years.
BSNL(Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has also established 2500 free Wi-Fi hotspots across the country. The government’s initiative to connect the remote parts of the country has boarded 8,621 villages already and plans to onboard over 55,000 villages by 2019, this would help in integrating mobile and internet and will help in generating more revenue.
Centre of Excellence on Internet of things (IoT) was setup in Bangalore by the Government of India in 2015 to jump-start the IoT ecosystem by taking advantage of India’s IT Strength. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept whereby multiple devices, such as sensors and electronics, can be connected via the internet to collect and exchange data.

Digital Marketing is using the digital medium to penetrate a message to all users using internet, a device enabling them to use internet and connect to the message. KPMG Report states, major digital consumptions are done through mobile as a device. Currently 300 Million mobile phones are being used by people and about 700 Million mobile phones to be used by 2021.

Digital India Initiative takes vow on developing 1200 Wi-Fi hotspots for free usage in 150 stations in Mumbai which will help people access free internet and pursue digital marketers their potentials customers. The digital divide in the rural and urban is about to vanish since the GOI has set up Common Service Centers, in about 0.25 million Gram Panchayat where all digital services are offered to people of the panchayat. These initiatives will let the country, accessible to internet and connect to all Digital Marketers.
